Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieux Télégraphe 2001 presents a deep brick-red hue, indicative of its age. Aromas of ripe, sweet berry fruit intertwine with notes of Provençal herbs and subtle spice. The palate reveals a structured density, offering layers of complex flavours, including hints of liquorice and garrigue. The finish is long and notable, reflecting the wine’s powerful profile without sacrificing balance. Vieux Télégraphe, a prominent estate established in the late 19th century, is recognised for its focus on traditional winemaking methods and exceptional terroir.

Vinous
Full red. Aromas of candied red fruits, gunflint, minerals and pepper. Then subtly sweet in the mouth, with intriguing garrigue notes, moderate stuffing and harmonious acidity. Still a bit youthfully clenched, and a tad dry on the back end, but there's also enticing sweetness and length. Stephen Tanzer1st January 2004
