Omnia is Latin for “all”, and this particular wine is a blend of all 9 of Mounir Saouma’s vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in order to provide a snapshot of the entire region’s terroir. A blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre from selected old vines, it is vinified and aged in foudres, cement and 500-litre barrels, with no punching down, racking, fining or filtration, and minimal sulphur addition. The 2016 is an outstanding release of kaleidoscopic complexity. It is pure and precise, offering up notes of blackberry, black cherry, raspberry, garrigues, exotic spices and stoney minerality.

Limpid violet. Displays seductively perfumed raspberry preserve, exotic spice and lavender oil qualities on the nose, along with hints of incense and smoky minerals. Juicy, seamless and energetic on the palate, offering intense red berry liqueur, fruitcake and floral pastille flavors that show outstanding clarity and spicy cut. Fine-grained tannins frame a strikingly long, penetrating finish that shows superb red fruit- and mineral-driven persistence.Josh Raynolds1st December 2019
