Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réserve Vieille Julienne 2015 is a full-bodied blended red wine from the southern Rhône Valley. Under the stewardship of Jean-Paul Daumen since 1990, this estate has gained recognition for the benchmark quality of its wines and its meticulous viticulture practices. The wine emerges from the northern sector of this renowned appellation. The 2015 vintage exhibits a blend predominantly consisting of Grenache, with notable contributions from Syrah and Mourvèdre. The wine undergoes separate vinification of varieties, with an emphasis on expressing fruit purity.

Tasting just like the Les Trois Source (they come from the same terroir), yet with just another level of polish and purity to its tannin and fruit, the sensational 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Reserve offers layers of black raspberries, blueberries, crushed violets and black licorice. Thick, unctuous, layered and multi-dimensional, it’s a hard (and expensive) bottle to find, but is certainly one of the most singular and impressive wines made in the world. - Jeb Dunnuck
Vinous
Lurid ruby-red. A highly perfumed, expansive bouquet evokes ripe dark berries, cherry pit, licorice, garrigue and smoky Indian spices. Shows superb concentration as well as energy, offering vivacious black raspberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors and a suave floral pastille undertone. Becomes sweeter with air and finishes on a youthfully tannic note, delivering impressive focus, a touch of dark chocolate and emphatic dark fruit thrust.Josh Raynolds1st March 2017
