Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2001 is a full-bodied, blended red wine from the southern Rhône Valley of France. Domaine de Marcoux has been elevated to Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge`s very highest echelon thanks to the tireless work of sisters Sophie and Catherine Armenier. The domaine`s Châteauneuf-du-Pape is produced from organically farmed grapes and typically is made of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 7% Syrah and 3% Cinsault. "Like the traditional cuvee, the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes shows a tinge of cool climate-like style and offers nuanced notes of forest floor, garrigue, damp earth, olive and ample dark fruits. While the bouquet is outstanding, the palate is straight up sensational and this beauty has full-bodied richness, a layered, expansive texture, perfectly polished tannin and a great, great finish. I imagine it will keep for another decade, yet there`s certainly no need to hold off either." Wine Advocate, 2016

Vinous
Good medium red. Aromas of roasted plum, raspberry and redcurrant, plus a whiff of mocha. Juicy, bright and vinous, with urgent currant and raspberry flavors showing lovely elegance and impressive inner-mouth energy. Finishes very ripe and vibrant, with superb lift.
