The 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Vigne Blanche from Château de la Maltroye is a Premier Cru Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune. This wine originates from carefully selected parcels of the Morgeot climat, with the Vigne Blanche indicating specific old vines, planted approximately 60 years ago. The 2010 vintage is recognised for its intricate structure and depth. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels, the wine displays a blend of white-fleshed fruit and citrus, complemented by a mineral character.

(4.81 acidity!): Bright pale yellow. White peach, citrus peel and powdered stone on the nose. Densely packed, supple and elegant, with a silky texture and terrific inner-mouth perfume to the brisk lemon, lime and mineral flavors. I love the combination of racy acidity and 13.5% alcohol. Most impressive on the rich, rising finish. From soil based on in red clay.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2012
