Domaine Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 2001 is a mature 1er Cru white Burgundy from one of the leading producers in the Côte d`Or. Among aficionados, Ramonet Chardonnays are considered true benchmarks of Burgundy`s limestone terroir. Founded in the 1920s by Pierre Ramonet, the domaine is now managed by third-generation proprietors Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet. " Intense pear and lime flavours enlivened by bright acids and complicated by hints of white flowers and dusty stone. A tactile, brisk wine with solid backbone. Clean, ripe, balanced and long." Stephen Tanzer, 2003
86 Vinous
(from a .11 ha parcel from the Les Fairendes sub-climat and 50% new wood). Quite reserved aromatically with a bit better flavor authority than the Caillerets but less elegance and finishing persistence. Adequate and this will drink well early.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2003
