Charles Heidsieck Rosé Millésime 2006 is a vintage rosé Champagne produced by Charles Heidsieck in Reims, France. Charles Heidsieck is one of the leading Grande Marque Champagne houses, known for its structured and creamily elegant sparkling wines. Founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, the maison was acquired in 2011 by the French luxury goods group EPI, owned by the Descours family. This 2006 rosé is a blend of 37% Chardonnay and 63% Pinot Noir of which 8% is still red wine. The wine was aged seven years sur latte prior to disgorgement. "Some riper and extremely creamy red cherry and strawberry fruits on the nose, with vanillin and plenty of pastry, too. The palate has an assertive, fleshy and expressive texture. Poached strawberries and peaches hold long with a gently tart pink grapefruit kick." James Suckling, 2017

Heidsieck's 2006 Brut Rosé Vintage offers good immediacy and plenty of intensity, both of which make it quite appealing. Still a bit tight, the 2006 could use another year or more in bottle to soften. Although light in color, the 2006 packs a pretty serious punch. Hints of orange zest, chalk and white pepper add an attractive upper register on the finish. With time in the glass, the 2006 softens nicely, hinting at a bright future.
