Charles Heidsieck is a major champagne producer, known for its structured and creamy cuvées. Founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, the maison was acquired in 2011 by the French luxury goods group EPI, owned by the Descours family. Champagne Charlie was initially created in 1979, followed by four more vintages. 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1985. After a long disruption, it was relaunched in 2022 on the occasion of Charles Heidsieck’s bicentennial. This is a rare bottle of the inaugural release and a very sough-after collector’s item.

The 1979 Charles Heidsieck Cuvée Charlie was one of the more forward wines in this flight, but it offered pretty aromas and flavors in an understated style.
