The Chapelle Chambertin Pierre Damoy 2009 is an expression of the revered Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy, renowned for producing structured and age-worthy wines. Crafted from Pinot Noir, this wine displays a complex profile typical of its terroir, featuring earthy notes alongside dark fruit characteristics. Pierre Damoy, a respected vintner with a commitment to organic practices, has been instrumental in enhancing the region’s reputation. The Domaine founded in the 1920`s is now managed by Pierre who took over from his uncle, Jacques Damoy in 1992.

The 2009 Chapelle-Chambertin floats across the palate with delicate red berries, flowers and sweet spices. Highly expressive, perfumed aromatics are woven throughout, while silky tannins convey an impression of pure sensuality. I especially like the way the Chapelle freshens up in the glass, always a good sign for the future. Of the 2009s I tasted from bottle, the Chapelle is the one wine that appears a bit reticent today.
