Based in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis, Robert Groffier is known for having some of the most desirable sites in the Côte de Nuits. The domaine has been in the Groffier family since the 19th century when it was established by Frederick Groffier. This release is the 2004 vintage of the domaine’s ‘Les Sentiers’, the northernmost Premier Cru climat of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation. Expect a well-balanced wine, with concentrated flavours and structured acidity.

Good medium red. Highly expressive nose offers raspberry, leather and smoked meat. Sweet in the mouth but more primary than the Haut-Doix thanks to fresh acids and solid underlying minerality. Finishes with good length, brisk acidity and a hint of leather.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2007
