Domaine Dujac`s 2007 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers is a Premier Cru red Burgundy from one of the region`s most esteemed producers. Located at the northern boundary of Chambolle-Musigny, the Les Gruenchers vineyard imparts a structured and mineral-rich profile. Dujac`s 0.33-hectare parcel here contributes depth to the wine. The 2007 vintage faced challenges due to variable weather, yet the wine exhibits a well-defined character with layers of fruit and subtle earthiness.

Pale-medium red. Candied red berries, subtle soil tones and a whiff of pepper on the nose. At once sweet and savory on the palate, with a ripe raspberry flavor perked up by minerally acidity. Rather backward today and not yet expressing itself; in fact, this seems to be closing down right now. Finishes with dusty, solid tannins and yet there's something essentially soft about this wine.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2010

A Focus on Terroir

Founded in the late 1960s by Jacques Seysses, who purchased and renovated Domaine Graillet in Morey-St-Denis. The estate is currently run by Jacques' sons Jeremy and Alec, who farm around 17 hectares of vines across the Côte including holdings in Echezeaux, Clos de la Roche, Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes Mares.

A natural approach is taken in the vineyard and cellar with the estate moving from organic farming to fully biodynamic in the mid 2000s, receiving their certification in 2011. The team's focus is on elegance - temperatures are controlled to keep alcohol in check and also limit malolactic fermentation while juice from the crush is fed into the cellar by gravity only without the use of pumping. The wines of Domaine Dujac represent pure, balanced expressions of their respective terroirs.
