Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes Ghislaine Barthod 2009 is a red Burgundy crafted from Pinot Noir. This wine originates from the Les Charmes Premier Cru vineyard, known for its clay-limestone soils that impart distinctive character. Ghislaine Barthod is acknowledged for her commitment to traditional practices, emphasising minimal intervention in the winery. In 2009, a warm growing season produced wines with an opulent profile. This vintage offers a balance of ripe red fruits, floral notes and earthy undertones, showcasing a fine structure with supple tannins, leading to a nuanced and persistent finish.

Vinous
Medium red. Reticent nose hints at raspberry, crushed rock and menthol. Quite dry and imploded but juicy and fresh, with lively notes of red berries and olive. Much less demonstrative today than the Beaux-Bruns and more dominated by its structure. Shows good minerality for the year and finishes dry, classy and long. This tight, firmly structured wine will need at least several years of aging.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2012
