Domaine Anne Gros Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d`Orveau is a village-level red Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits. The parcel sits in a cool microclimate high on the slope, adjacent to the Musigny Grand Cru and the border of Flagey-Echézeaux. Anne Gros employs 100% destemming and precise temperature control during fermentation to ensure a silky texture. The 2009 vintage provided ample ripeness and supple tannins, making this a particularly approachable expression of this limestone-heavy site. It offers a profile of red cherries and crushed rose petals.

Vinous
Moderately saturated medium red. Lovely aromas of musky raspberry, cherry, licorice and flowers, with complicating soil tones; compellingly high-pitched for 2009. Then silky, sweet and creamy in the mouth, with excellent breadth to its red fruit and floral flavors. A very open-knit style but quite fresh. The long finish features a whiplash of cherry and minerals. Superb village wine.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2012
