Domaine Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 2016 is a medium-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Chambolle-Musigny commune of the Côte de Nuits. A prominent producer in Chambolle-Musigny, Ghislaine Barthod is known for making opulent red wines that are designed to age. The domaine is currently made up of approximately six hectares of vineyard, over half of it is split between eight well-sited plots in Chambolle-Musigny Premier Crus. "Medium dense purple, fine pure Chambolle fruit, lovely weight on the palate, dark fruit but not over ripe, crunchy finish, excellent length. There is a dense kernel of dark cherry fruit, really very good indeed." Jasper Morris MW, 2017
Vinous
Healthy dark red. Precise aromas of blackberry, black raspberry, licorice, flowers and spices. Juicy, spicy wine combining subtle sweetness and soil-driven salinity, with complicating notes of licorice and herbs. Fairly tight but not short on flesh. This serious, well-chiseled village wine will need at least a couple years in bottle to expand.Stephen Tanzer1st January 2018
