With a history going back to the 15th century, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is one of the finest producers in Côte de Nuits. Today, the estate is owned by sisters, Comtesse Claire de Causans and Marie de Ladoucette with Jean Lupatelli as chef de cave and Jean-Luc Pépin looking after sales and marketing. On the 2002 domaine`s Chambolle. "The medium to dark ruby-coloured 2002 Chambolle-Musigny reveals dark cherry aromas as well as a medium-bodied, satin-textured personality. Armed with awesome depth, it is expansive, powerful, yet refined and well-structured. Mocha-laced jammy black fruits can be found throughout its expressive character as well as in its long, sweet, velvety finish." Wine Advocate, 2004

Vinous
(bottled in January of 2004) Full red. Musky aromas of raspberry and exotic spices. Sweet, plump and rich, but with terrific verve, thanks to solid acidity and strong mineral and spice components. Very pure fruit here. Millet characterizes the fruit character of 2002 as jellied fruits, very sweet but never heavy.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2005
