de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny 1999 is a medium-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Chambolle-Musigny commune of the Côte de Nuits. Founded in 1450, Domaine Comtes Georges de Vogüé owns and makes wine from some of the most desirable vineyards in Burgundy, with significant holdings in the Grand Crus of Musigny & Bonnes-Mares. Their wines are complex and long-lived, and considered by many among the finest in the Côte d`Or. On the 1999 Chambolle-Musigny. "The ruby-coloured 1999 Chambolle-Musigny has gorgeous raspberry and cherry coulis aromas. Light to medium-bodied and soft, it displays cherry and metallic flavours in its well-made, elegant character." Wine Advocate, 2001

Ruby-red. Sappy, floral aromas of cassis, black raspberry, licorice and toffee. Dense for a village wine, with strong flavors of currant and spice. Almost cabernet-like in texture, finishing with dusty, building tannins and a slightly aggressive quality.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2002
