Comte Georges de Vogüé is a historic estate producing some of the most sough-after wines in Burgundy. The name of the Domaine is credited to Comte Georges de Vogüé who was at the helm of the winery for over 50 years. This release is their Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru from 2009, an outstanding vintage for red Burgundy. The nose suggests red cherries, dark raspberries, wild strawberries, hints of pomegranate and rose petals. On the palate, expect a medium-bodied wine, with fine grippy tannins and a mineral edge.

Vinous
- The 2009 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru has a rip-roaring bouquet of feisty raspberry coulis, wild strawberry and plum aromas, hints of kirsch and tar emerging with time. Rich but controlled. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity, quite plump in the mouth with hints of clove and orange zest. There is real depth and group here, a lovely roundness towards the sensual finish with sufficient energy to suggest it will give another decade of drinking pleasure with ease. Tasted at Bistro de l'Hôtel in Beaune.
