Pierre Damoy is a family-owned estate in Gevrey-Chambertin, famous for producing structured, terroir-driven wines. Pierre has been in charge of the domaine since 1992, when he took it over from his uncle Jacques Damoy. This release is his Chambertin 2008, from the most important grand cru vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin. It’s a full-bodied red Burgundy, brimming with notes of dark fruit, herbs and earthy undertones.

Very dark crimson. Dense and dry and pretty impressive. Juicy. Very impressive. So much better than the Chapelle-Chambertin! Still very youthful but it definitely deserves its grand cru status. Very youthful. (JR)
