Duty Charges

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Chambertin 2008 from Domaine Henri Boillot is a Grand Cru red Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits. This wine is a demonstration of Boillot`s precise, modern vinification, using whole-cluster inclusion to maximise complexity and tension in this specific Grand Cru. The wine displays a tight powerful profile, offering concentrated aromas of red cherry, cranberry, iron and high-toned earthiness. The palate is linear and austere, showcasing intense, firm structure and demanding cellar time.

The Boillot 2008 Chambertin – from high up on the cru, protected from hail by the forest, but demanding long hang-time, he reports – is scented with smoky Lapsang tea, peat, and licorice; rich in roasted red meats and black fruits; expansive and palate-staining. There is no place – for now at least, it seems – in this Chambertin for fine floral perfume or elegance; it is a robust, carnal, and densely-fruited rendition. Firmly but finely tannic, its cherry pit, chalk, and stone finishing notes convey a certain austerity but this merely sets off the richness of the whole, and there is an unstoppable torrent of fresh fruit juiciness throughout. This should be worth cellaring for 15-20 years, and would probably best be left in peace for the first half dozen. In 2008, Henri Boillot both expanded his domaine and became ambitious qua negociant with Pinot. In the latter capacity, he looks for contracts where he can exercise control over the farming, so that, for example, all of the 2008s – he reports – were cropped at less than 20 hectoliters per hectare and picked very late. Unorthodoxly Boillot pressed many of his reds early to let them complete fermentation in barrel. His malos were late but not dramatically so, finishing in August, and most of the wines were bottled in February, a few earlier. - David Schildknecht

(from vines at the top of the vineyard under the forest, where it's necessary to pick late, according to Boillot) Full ruby-red. Minerals, iron and crushed stone dominate the nose. Silky and dense on entry, then thick and sweet in the middle, with powerful minerality giving the wine outstanding energy and perfume. This expands inexorably on the back half and finishes with great length, thrust and perfume. There's superb underlying fruit here, but today this is all about soil.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2010

Father and Son

In some ways, Henri Boillot has one foot in the past and one in the present. His family domaine, which he manages with his son Guillaume, has a history dating back to the 1880s, but the wines produced from their Meursault-based winery are undeniably modern, approachable and ranked among some of the very best in the region. Alongside operating a highly successful négociant business, the Boillot family own around 14 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune including a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru monopole in the form of Clos de la Mouchère.

The winery don't shy away from the use of new oak and any overtly woody character is generally well balanced by ripe fruit. The Chardonnays range from citrus driven and fresher at the villages level all the way to ripe, tropical and creamy at the Grand Cru level. The reds are lighter and more elegant than they used to be with Henri's son Guillaume preferring a less extracted style of Pinot Noir.
