A white wine from Burgundy, the 2023 vintage reflects a warmer growing season, leading to increased fruit weight and a riper texture. Produced by Laurent Tribut, who has familial ties to the esteemed Vincent Dauvissat, this village-level wine is crafted from estate-owned parcels, reaching 13% alcohol. Fermented in temperature-controlled tanks and aged in neutral oak barrels, it presents a profile of Lemon Zest, Green Apple, and a persistent saline minerality. This bottling embodies the classic Kimmeridgian minerality and tension characteristic of the Tribut style, offering an authentic expression of village Chablis.
16.5 Jancis Robinson
A little duller than classic Chablis but a certain green-fruit/vegy character. Lots of of personality, not enough follow-through though. (JR)
Vinous
The 2023 Chablis Village, raised for 6 months in barrel, has a pretty nose, light white peach and freshly sliced pear scents. The palate is light and straightforward, a relatively simple Chablis Village compared to previous vintages from Tribut, but elevated by a dash of ginger on the finish. Fine. Complexity and Tradition

The small, family-run domaine of Laurent Tribut is based in the Chablis village of Poinchy. Tribut is the son-in-law of Vincent Dauvissat and began making his wines in the Dauvissat’s cellar before starting his own domaine. He has now passed winemaking duties on to his daughter, Solange.

The domaine consists of 6ha of vineyards including holdings in the Premiers Crus of Beauroy, Côte de Lechet and Montmains, as well as several village-level parcels. Low yields in the vineyards and patient work in the cellar, with wines fermented in steel and matured in neutral French oak barrels, produce classic, long-lived Chablis wines with more than a passing resemblance to the master himself, Monsieur Dauvissat. The Premier Cru wines may require four to five years of ageing before they are ready to drink, while even the village-level wines will benefit from two to three years in bottle before they are broached.
