Founded in 1948, Domaine François Raveneau is one of Chablis`s finest producers, with a cult following all over the world. The estate comprises eight hectares of land spread across three Grand Cru and six Premier Cru sites. All the grapes are harvested manually, one of the very few remaining producers in Chablis to do so. This release is the Domaine’s Vaillons, one of Chablis` most famous Premier Cru wines. 2003 will be remembered in Burgundy for its ferocious heatwave, but the best producers managed to make spectacular wines from that unusual vintage.

Vinous
Pale, green-tinged color. Cool, very reserved aromas of powdered stone and menthol. Densely packed, concentrated and fresh, showing stony minerality and verve rare for the vintage. Finishes with a note of oatmeal. A terrific premier cru.Stephen Tanzer1st July 2005
