Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Founded in 1902, Bodega Catena Zapata is perhaps the most famous winery in Argentina and has been at the forefront of resurrecting the Malbec grape variety whilst also establishing itself as one of the pre-eminent fine wine producers in the country. The Mundus Bacillus Terrae Malbec comes from a small 1.4-hectare plot within the famed Adrianna Vineyard, which sits at almost 5,000ft elevation in the Gualtallary District of Mendoza.

The 2016 began fermentation in a combination of concrete vats and oak foudre before maturation in French oak barrels for 18 months. From a cooler vintage, this is hallmarked by exceptionally broody dark fruits, brilliantly refined tannins and wonderful freshness, with superb overall balance. Decanting this wine is definitely recommended.

Saturated bright ruby. Aromas of brambly crushed blackberry and boysenberry, wild herbs and tropical bitter chocolate verge on exotic, but that's because this is one of Argentina's finest sites--and not just for Malbec. Thick and utterly seamless but with a weightless quality and razor-sharp definition that come from the limestone and calcaire-covered rock underneath a thin layer of marine deposits, not to mention the use of 50% whole clusters. Incredibly silky, concentrated wine with powerful saline minerality, a firm spine of mounting noble tannins and subtle chocolatey sweetness. Winemaker Alejandro Vigil describes this wine as our purest Malbec expression for long aging. Adrianna was the first vineyard in Gualtallary, planted in 1992 and 1994 at a time when there was virtually no viticultural infrastructure here.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2019

Earthy tobacco leaf edging, black spice, blackberry and black cherry fruits. The precision and elegance add a new depth to the Malbec, giving heather, raspberry leaf, sage, white pepper and olive paste to lend depths to the juicy bright berry fruits. 50% whole cluster on 75% of the grapes, and 25% in oak casks. This was a rainy, low sun year with relatively high yields - a year where terroir counted, and the best wines stood out, clearly indicating the quality of the site. 3.45ph.Jane Anson15th October 2021

100% Malbec. 2008 was the first vintage. Harvest 18 March. Dark purplish crimson. Excellent energy on the nose – is this higher on average than the Nicolás Catena Zapata blend? Yes, this parcel in the Adrianna vineyard is at 1440 m. Very mellow palate entry with masses of fruit masking the tannin. Really very gorgeous with masses of savour and not a trace of superfluous sweetness. A very thrilling testament to the quality of high-altitude Mendoza Malbec.(JR)

Pioneers of Fine Winemaking in Argentina

Over more than a century, the Catenas have evolved into the pre-eminent winemaking family in Argentina. The family’s history in wine goes back to 1902 when Nicola Catena purchased his first Mendoza vineyard. Much more recently, in 1997, his grandson, Nicolás Zapata pioneered the idea of fine wine from Argentina. Inspired by Bordeaux and Napa, he was the first person to ally Old World winemaking sensibilities to the high-altitude vineyards of Mendoza.

Bodega Catena Zapata is now managed by (Dr) Laura Catena, who continues to uphold the the family’s standard of excellence, harnessing the high-altitude terroir of the Andes through precision viticulture and a highly granular cellar regime to produce one of the finest wine portfolios in Argentina.

The flagship wine of the Catena portfolio is the Nicolás Catena Zapata cuvée in which ungrafted Malbec is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon from ‘grand cru’ multiple plots, all processed via 200 micro-vinifications which are then blended together and matured for 24 months in French oak, with a further two years in bottle before release.
