Brunello di Montalcino Silvio Nardi 2007 is a distinguished expression of Sangiovese sourced from the estate’s best vineyards. Tenute Silvio Nardi adheres to the stringent DOCG regulations governing the production of Brunello, ensuring rigorous quality control. Fruit is selectively harvested, with only the top 70% of the hand-picked grapes used. The wine undergoes maturation in a mix of traditional Slavonian and French oak barrels, followed by a further period of bottle ageing prior to release. Founded in 1950, Silvio Nardi was a pioneer in modernising winemaking practices in Montalcino, laying the groundwork for contemporary excellence in Brunello production.

Vinous
Medium cherry-red. Moderately ripe aromas of red cherry, menthol, herbs and flowers. Supple but a bit diffuse, showing decent sweetness but in need of a bit more intensity and depth. Finishes with a broad dusting of tannins and modest length. I don't find the flavor definition shown by this producer's 2006s.Stephen Tanzer1st July 2012
