Brora is a producer of single malt Scotch whisky that operated between 1819 and 1983. The distillery has reopened in May 2021 but vintage bottlings from Brora continue to be in high demand. This particular release was distilled in 1975 and bottled for United Distillers` Rare Malts Selection in 1995.

An Elusive Highlander
Originally known as Clynelish, Brora was established in the early 1800s by the Duke of Sutherland. The distillery was popular with blenders to the point where a second site was required to meet demand (still in operational as Clynelish). The original distillery was closed in the late 1960s and reopened in the 1970s, producing a range of malts - from heavily peated to very lightly peated.
Having long been one of the most popular closed distilleries for collectors and drinkers, Brora is now being refurbished and reopened by the current owners Diageo. The first bottlings are expected in the mid to late 2020s - the whisky world waits with baited breath!
