Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Henri Gouges is a family-owned estate currently run by cousins Pierre and Christian Gouges. Henri Gouges established the domaine in 1925, becoming one of the first growers in Burgundy to sell wine under his own name. This Bourgogne Blanc is made with 100% Pinot Blanc from a 0.7-hectare parcel situated at an altitude of approximately 375 metres. Expect a fresh and easy-drinking expression, featuring notes of lemon zest, melon and a touch of oak.

The 2021 Bourgogne Blanc has a lovely nose (I'm a sucker for Pinot Blanc's aromatics!) with Williams pear, peach skin and even a hint of cherry. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, quite taut and pithy with a simple but flavour-rich finish. It just says "fun". Neal Martin5th January 2023

20% new oak.Pale lemon gold. Rich apple notes with a touch of honey. White flowers and pear. Lively, fizzing acidity on the finish and just a touch of heat. Refined and simple. (MH)Matthew Hayes6th April 2023
