Domaine de la Vougeraie Bourgogne Chardonnay Terres de Famille 2022 is a medium-bodied white wine from the Burgundy region of France. Based in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie was formed in 1999 when wine entrepreneur Jean-Claude Boisset decided to consolidate all the vineyard holdings of his various négociant companies acquired over the years. With nearly 40 hectares of vineyard area and over 30 different appellations, Vougeraie is undoubtedly one of Burgundy’s leading estates. This Terres de Famille cuvée combines ripe citrus, orchard and subtle tropical fruits with hints of almond and oak spice.

Bottled in July, the 2022 Bourgogne Blanc Terre de Famille has an attractive nose with yellow plum and light dried honey scents. The palate is well-balanced with a rounded entry. It is missing some acidity and feels a bit predictable on the finish, but you could merrily quaff this over the next couple of years.

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
