Maison Leroy is one of the pillars of Lalou Bize-Leroy’s Burgundy empire, which also includes Domaine Leroy and Domaine d’Auvenay. Her lifetime commitment as a vigneron producing wines from almost every appellation in the Côte d`Or makes her one of the most experienced winemakers in France. This is a rare bottle of the Maison’s Bourgogne Blanc from 2015, a particularly good vintage for both red and white wines.

2017 release. Pale straw. Shy nose and rather muted palate. Correct, bone dry, but far from thrilling. Chewy end. Perhaps it will develop as the 1998 though? (JR)Jancis Robinson19th March 2018

Hand Picked Burgundies

The Leroy name is a key pillar of the Burgundian wine scene and a leading light in the Côte d'Or, with three main strands: Domaine Leroy, Maison Leroy and Domaine d'Auvenay (a small, biodynamically farmed Domaine founded by Lalou in 1988). Maison Leroy was founded by François Leroy as a négociant house in 1868 in the village of Auxey-Duresses and is today headed up by the renowned Lalou Bize-Leroy.

Unlike Domaine Leroy and Domaine d'Auvenay, Maison Leroy represents a portfolio of wines selected by Lalou, but not made by Lalou. Vignerons from across Burgundy will submit their wines for evaluation and, following a blind tasting, Lalou will select just a few to be bottled under the Maison label.
