Bourgogne Aligoté 2012 from Domaine Arnaud Ente is a white wine from the Côte de Beaune. This wine demonstrates Ente`s uncompromising standards, achieved through extremely low yields and exceptionally long ageing on the lees to impart structural density and purity to this often-overlooked variety. This wine displays a tightly wound precise profile, offering concentrated aromas of lemon zest, green apple, wet stone and subtle smoke. The palate is linear and intense, showcasing purity and structural persistence.

Goes into oak, sometimes demi-muids. Meaty nose and real concentration. Great balance. Bravo! GV(JR)

Balance and Complexity

A leading light in Meursault, Burgundy, Arnaud Ente and his wife, Marie-Odile craft exquisite micro-production Burgundies that easily compete with the finest in the region. The Domaine owns four hectares which are managed with a very small and hands-on team. The key grape varieties here are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, used to produce stand out Meursault, Puligny Montrachet and Bourgogne Pinot Noir that are renowned for their precision and elegance.

The style has tended towards the opulent, with late picking for fuller ripeness being a key part of Arnaud's philosophy in the 1990s. More recently though the wines have presented with greater levels of freshness and minerality as the winemaking practices have changed and evolved.
