Bollinger La Grande Année Rose 2014 is a vintage-dated rosé Champagne from the house of Bollinger in Épernay. Located in the village of Aÿ, Bollinger has become synonymous with sophistication and quality. In 1976, the maison`s vintage Champagne was renamed Grande Année, becoming La Grande Année in 1997. The 2014 La Grande Année Rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from 19 crus, mostly in Aÿ and Verzenay for Pinot Noir and Chouilly and Oiry for the Chardonnay. Around 5% of red wine from Bollinger`s Côte aux Enfants plot makes up the blend. The dosage here is 8g/l. "The wine comes with bright, orange hued peachy colour. There is a sweet strawberry note to the nuanced nose of cherry, peach candy, vanilla, liquorice and quince. It is for the time being youthful with the rainbow of berry aromas dominating. Yet the refined spiciness comes forward stronger on the silky-smooth palate of utterly sophisticated phenolics. The overall impression is elegant, even if vinous, with the brisk acidity enhancing the feeling of vibrancy and lightness." Essi Avellan MW, 2021

The 2014 Rosé La Grande Année is airy, gracious and full of energy. Crushed rocks, white pepper, red berry, mint and blood orange lend striking aromatic intensity and presence. Finely cut and taut, the Rosé is a nervy Champagne that needs time to come together. The Rosé is blended from a base of the Blanc plus 5% still red Pinot from Bollinger’s Coteaux des Enfants vineyard in Aÿ. Perhaps because of its later disgorgement vis-à-vis the Blanc, the Rosé is a bit tight today. Disgorged: August, 2021. Dosage: 8 grams per liter. Antonio Galloni1st March 2022

Pale coral with a glimmer of gold, the La Grand Annee Rosé 2014 is a 63% Pinot Noir and 37% Chardonnay blend with 5-6% of still Cote Aux Enfants Pinot Noir. The blend was vinified together in small oak barrels and aged on fine lees until it was manually riddled and disgorged March 2022 with a seven gram per liter dosage. Revealing beautifully vinous and savory aromas of red currants, apricot turnover, bergamot, walnuts and lemon oil, this 2014 rosé opens onto a full-bodied, open-knit palate brimming with mineral-rich salinity, buoyant acidity and a savory red fruit finish with a little tannic grip. Wonderful, vinous champagne that is gastronomic and opulent.Sarah Mayo8th November 2023

A Classic Grande Marque

Synonymous with sophistication and quality, Champagne Bollinger was awarded the Royal Warrant as Official Purveyor of Champagne to Queen Victoria in 1884. From special cuvées and Rosé Champagnes, to rarely seen vintages, luxurious large formats and Recently Disgorged styles, this is a wonderful House to discover. Bollinger wines even have a close association with James Bond - and rare limited editions have been released in celebration of the films from Moonraker to No Time To Die.

The Bollinger vineyard covers 179 hectares, with 85% of these Grand and Premier Cru. One of the last family-run Champagne houses in the region, Bollinger is located in the village of Aÿ, near Épernay. A number of practices are key to the Bollinger approach: the majority of grapes used in the wines have to come from the Maison's own vineyards; Pinot Noir must play a dominant role in the blend; the role of micro-oxygenation from barrel fermentation; and long periods of bottle aging (two to three times longer than required).
