Château Lynch-Bages is one of the finest estates in the Pauillac appellation, known for producing wines that combine structure and elegance. Since 1939, the estate has been successfully run by the Cazes family, who also owns other properties in Bordeaux such as Château Haut-Batailley. The 2020 Blanc de Lynch-Bages is a blend composed of 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Sémillon, and 10% Muscadelle. Its vibrant aromas of white peaches, fresh pineapple, and pink grapefruit are complemented by hints of honeysuckle and mandarin peel. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine displays a captivating intensity, balanced acidity, and lively zesty notes, leading to a rewarding savoury finish.

The warmth of the vintage gives this Blanc de Lynch Bages a gourmet feel, with good weight through the mid palate, plenty of structure, and a clear emphasis on apricot, nectarine, pineapple, white peach and honeysuckle. I noted during the En Primeur tastings that it`s a slightly atypical vintage, and the impression is confirmed now in bottle - plenty of pesonality, less lift than in the 2019 or 2021 vintages. 3.35pH, 50% new oak, 40hl/h yield.Jane Anson9th February 2023

The 2020 Blanc de Lynch Bages is terrific. I am not always a fan of the Blanc, as I often find it too tropical, but the 2020 has more than enough verve and overall freshness to balance things out. I would prefer to drink it over the next handful of years. Antonio Galloni1st June 2021

The Modern Pauillac

Situated in the celebrated Pauillac appellation in Bordeaux, Château Lynch Bages uses around 60% of its 100 hectares to produce its first wine (a 5th growth in the 1855 classification) in addition to producing a second red, Echo de Lynch Bages. These wines display superb Cabernet Sauvignon character, together with smaller percentages of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot making up the blend. A wonderful example of the power and elegance of truly great Pauillac: gloriously supple and smooth with a tannic backbone.

A white wine, known as Blanc de Lynch Bages, is also produced in very small quantities. Made from an elegant blend of the classic white Bordeaux varietals, Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Muscadelle, the resulting wines display exhilarating freshness and dried apricot complexity.
