Domaine de la Vougeraie was created in 1999 when Jean-Claude Boisset consolidated all the vineyard holdings accrued from his various négociant companies, consisting nearly 40 hectares of vines across 30 different appellations and including six grand crus. The 2016 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet is vibrant, rich and concentrated, with a beautiful bouquet of struck match, citrus, stone fruits, wet stones and grilled nuts. Delightfully intense, zippy and mineral on the palate, there is ample potential for this to improve over the next 10 years.

Top Flight Biodynamic Burgundy

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
