Based in Puligny-Montrachet, Paul Pernot is a family-owned estate known for producing classic Burgundy wines with pristine fruit. Paul Pernot established the Domaine in 1959 with approximately 10 hectares, most of which had been in the family for many generations. Their Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru from the millennial vintage is in a good place right now. Round palate, no hard edges, with hints of hazelnuts, truffle and honey. The acidity has folded into the palate and the mouthfeel is perfectly smooth, and yet the wine is still very fresh and lively.

Pale color. Subtle aromas of white peach and flower blossom. Sweet, lush and silky, with lovely cut. Nicely full in the mouth but at the same time elegant and penetrating. Really spreads out and lingers on the palate.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2002

Good acidity and real spine. Thoroughly exciting wine that pierces the palate. Not nearly ready and with very slightly obvious alcohol on the finish but all the elements are there for a great and glorious future. (JR)Jancis Robinson14th November 2002
