Etienne Sauzet owns and manages vineyard plots in some of the most esteemed terroirs in Puligny-Montrachet and neighbouring appellations. The Domaine was founded in the early 20th century by Etienne Sauzet and has been managed by several generations of the Sauzet family. The portfolio includes this Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, considered one of the finest Grad Cru vineyards in Burgundy. The 2008 vintage was marked by cool weather conditions and a longer growing season. The cool temperatures allowed the grapes to retain good acidity and develop complex aromas while maintaining balance.

Vinous
Bright yellow-straw color. Aromas of yellow peach and mirabelle, complemented by vanilla and toast notes. Fat and open-knit; more exotic than the Combettes but comes across as a bit less obviously sweet, perhaps due to its stronger component of spicy oak. But ultimately less complex too.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2010
