Benromach Sassicaia Finish 2007 is a Speyside single malt that has benefited from an extended secondary maturation in Sassicaia wine casks. This process enhances the profile with layers of red fruit and a rich sweetness typical of the Italian wine influence. Aromas of raisins, treacle, dark chocolate and honeyed oak emerge on the nose. The palate delivers a medium-bodied experience showcasing spiced plum, vanilla and toasted nuts, complemented by the wood`s integrated richness. The whisky culminates in a long finish marked by dried fruits and sweet tobacco, reflecting a balance between its elegant spirit and the robust characteristics of the cask.

The distillery operate one wash still and one spirit still and annual production is around half a million litres a year. Following a period of closure, the distillery was acquired by Gordon and MacPhail in the early 1990s and bottling resumed later the same decade, much to the delight of single malt enthusiasts. The spirit is generally peated to a slightly higher level than one would expect from a Speysider, around 8 - 12 ppm.
