Benromach Origins Batch 4 Port Pipe 2003 is a Speyside single malt distilled in 2003 as part of a series exploring production variables. This batch focuses on the influence of full maturation in Port pipes, which enriches the profile with dark fruit and nut characteristics. It opens with aromas of redcurrants and honey. The palate is medium to full-bodied, where the sweetness of the Port wood harmonises with the signature grain spice of the spirit. Flavours of cocoa and spicy plum emerge, leading to a long, warming finish.

A Gently Peated Speysider

Founded in 1898 by Ducan McCallum is F.W. Brickman, Benromach is a Speyside distillery located in Morayshire. The distillery operate one wash still and one spirit still and annual production is around half a million litres a year. Following a period of closure, the distillery was acquired by Gordon and MacPhail in the early 1990s and bottling resumed later the same decade, much to the delight of single malt enthusiasts. The spirit is generally peated to a slightly higher level than one would expect from a Speysider, around 8 - 12 ppm.

Limited editions and cask finishes have been central to Benromach's identity in recent years while the core range offers fantastic quality across the board.
