Beaune Vigne de l`Enfant Jésus Bouchard 2008 is a Burgundy red wine crafted exclusively from Pinot Noir. Sourced from a historic 3.92-hectare monopole vineyard, this wine benefits from the unique terroir of Beaune, known for its limestone-rich soils. The 2008 vintage is characterised by heightened acidity, highlighting aromas of red berries, earth and subtle spices. The palate reveals flavours of cherry, raspberry and a hint of herbal complexity, along with firm tannins.

Bright medium red. Musky spices, strawberry, cherry and tobacco on the nose. Silky-sweet and dense, with excellent breadth and volume to the suave red fruit flavors. Offers a rather refined texture and finishes with very smooth tannins. Very classy Beaune wine.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2009

Bouchard Pere et Fils

Timeless legacy in Burgundy’s heart

Established in 1731, Maison Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest and largest wine estates in the Côte d’Or. In 1995, the estate was acquired by the Henriot family, whose portfolio also includes William Fèvre, Beaux Frères, Château de Poncié and Champagne Henriot. Bouchard boasts vineyard holdings totalling approximately 130 hectares, including 74ha of Premiers Crus and 12ha of Grand Crus, with as many as 450 different individual plots. While the maison’s vast mosaic of holdings are weighted towards the Côte de Beaune, the Côte de Nuits is also a major focus.

The maison’s original vineyard was purchased by Joseph Bouchard in Volnay Les Caillerets in 1775. Not long after Beaune Grèves Vigne de l’Enfant Jesus followed. Now one of four Bouchard monopole vineyards, Beaune Grèves Vignes de l’Enfant Jésus was once owned by the Carmelite order of nuns and is the source of Bouchard’s flagship wine. Bouchard’s extensive suite of wines is produced and aged at the state-of-the-art, gravity-fed Cuverie Saint Vincent in Savigny-lès-Beaune. Once bottled, the wines are stored beneath the historic Château de Beaune, built in the 15th century by King Louis XI and purchased by Bernard Bouchard in 1820.

With almost 300 years of savoir-faire, from its unrivalled multiplicity of terroirs, Bouchard stands as one of the most eminent names in Burgundy winemaking.
