Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches Rouge 2009 is a full-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Premier Cru climat of Clos des Mouches in the Côte de Beaune. Joseph Drouhin is one of the most respected names in Burgundy. An owner of domaines including Domaine Marquis de Laguiche and the monopole of Clos des Mouches, as well as operating a hugely successful negociant business, the family-owned Drouhin is justly respected for producing such a diverse portfolio of Burgundy wines with such a clear signature of their terroir. "Medium-red. Aromas of dark cherry, minerals, liquorice and smoke; much more soil-driven than the Greves. Ripe and deep, with a saline quality to the mineral, mocha and chocolate flavours. Nicely concentrated, sweet Beaune wine with the lush texture of the year. This has turned out well." Vinous, 2012
