The Beaune Clos des Mouches Rouge Joseph Drouhin 2008 is a Premier Cru burgundy Pinot Noir from a renowned producer with a legacy dating back to 1880. Joseph Drouhin holds the largest parcel of the 14-hectare Clos des Mouches vineyard site, marked by its distinctive east/south-east exposure. The 2008 vintage faced climatic challenges yet resulted in wines with noteworthy structure. This bottling presents a ruby hue and reveals a nose of cherry, raspberry and earthy undertones, alongside hints of spice. The palate offers a blend of freshness and structure, with refined tannins contributing to a lingering finish.

Moderately saturated medium red. Slightly reduced nose offers spices, minerals, pepper and earth. Then silky and sweet, with a pliant texture and good framing minerality. Firm acidity extends the finish.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2011
