The Domaine de la Vougeraie was created in 1999 to combine a family wine estate under one name. The estate’s 2018 Bâtard-Montrachet is dense yet crunchy, with an impressive zip, focus and palate length. Packed with citrus fruits and touches of lemon and juts a sprinkle of vanilla. Recommended drinking window from now through to 2032.

The 2018 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is disturbingly deep in hue. It has an odd nose that lacks mineralité, tropical over-ripe fruit, rather peachy and with some reduction. The palate is very oaky and weighty. A dense and burly Bâtard-Montrachet that does need some grace and poise on the finish. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.
