Brovia Barolo Rocche 2000 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard Nebbiolo red wine from the Barolo appellation of Piedmont, northern Italy. Fratelli Brovia is a family-run estate producing traditionally styled Barolos from vineyards spread over the Castiglione Falleto and Serralunga communes. Rocche is a renowned Barolo vineyard site in Castiglione. With Nebbiolo vines planted on a steep, south east-facing slope on sandy clay soils, it produces perfumed, elegant Barolos with great ageing potential. "The 2001 Barolo Rocche is dazzling. Sweet red cherries, flowers and tobacco are some of the many notes that emerge over time. The balance of fruit and structure is compelling. Silky, finessed tannins that are the hallmark of Rocche frame the long finish. The 2001 has developed beautifully over the last decade. Its future appears to be every bit as stellar."
