Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne 2000 is a full-bodied red wine produced from Nebbiolo grapes in the Barolo appellation of Piedmont, northern Italy. Le Vigne is a blend of Sandrone`s top four vineyard sites and is a wine that combines power with this standout producer`s trademark elegance. Founded in 1978, the small estate of Luciano Sandrone is one of the most revered in the Langhe. Le Vigne was first produced in 1990 and is an old-school assemblage of the finest parcels of vines from the estate-owned vineyards in Baudana (Serralunga), Villero (Castiglione Falletto), Vignane (Barolo) and Merli (Novelli). The grapes undergo spontaneous indigenous yeast fermentation in open-top steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in 500-litre French oak barrels. "Layered, rich, and wonderful with dried fruits, licorice and berries. The warm and rich 2000 Barolos are still fresh and youthful." James Suckling, 2011
