Barolo Cannubi Boschis Sandrone 2007 is a noteworthy expression of Nebbiolo from the prestigious Cannubi vineyard in Piedmont, Italy. This red wine showcases a complex structure with pronounced tannins, offering a glimpse into the region’s terroir. The 2007 vintage has matured to reveal nuances typical of aged Barolos, including earthy tones and dark fruit characteristics. Luciano Sandrone, the producer, is renowned for his meticulous vineyard practices, aiming for minimal intervention in the winemaking process to enhance terroir expression.

Good bright, deep red. Sexy, deep nose offers cherry, smoke, dried rose and minerals. Plump, round, seamless and deep, with compelling sweetness to the cherry, raspberry, spice and mocha flavors. For all its sweetness, this terrific Barolo is remarkably penetrating too. The extremely long, palate-staining finish features big but sweet tannins that softened with time in the glass. This Sandrone bottling is as reliably great as a Bordeaux first growth.Stephen Tanzer1st November 2011
