Barolo Brunate Le Coste Giuseppe Rinaldi 2005 is a single-vineyard Barolo from the esteemed Barolo region in Italy. Crafted by Giuseppe Rinaldi, a historic producer known for traditional winemaking methods, this wine reflects the unique terroir of the Brunate and Le Coste vineyards. It shows a complex structure with pronounced tannins, showcasing the Nebbiolo grape’s characteristic profile. The vintage is noteworthy for its balanced acidity and longevity, making it a suitable candidate for further aging. Enjoy a piece of Italian viticultural history with this expression.

The 2005 Barolo Brunate-Le Coste is a bit more open than the Barolo Cannubi S. Lorenzo-Ravera, but that openness manifests itself in aromatics that are starting to show signs of development. The tannins remain forbidding, which leads me to believe the 2005 will never be fully in balance. More importantly, there is a mustiness in the aromatics that is either a less than perfect cork or barrel. I have never found the 2005 to be an especially engaging wine by Rinaldi standards. My most recent tasting has done nothing to change that.Antonio Galloni1st July 2016
