Barolo Bricco delle Viole Vajra 2013 unveils a complex aroma profile with notes of dried cherries, rose petals, and earthy undertones. There`s a noticeable earthiness, mingling with hints of leather and spice that reflect the wine’s Nebbiolo origins. The tannins are firm yet refined, indicating the wine`s aging potential, while a medium to full body delivers depth on the palate.

Vajra is a prominent producer in the Barolo region, known for its commitment to organic farming and traditional winemaking methods. Bricco delle Viole is one of their prized vineyards, situated at high altitude, which helps achieve a balance of acidity and ripeness in the grapes. This vintage showcases the estate`s philosophy of expressing terroir, with aging typically in large Slavonian oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop complexity over time.

The 2013 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is a real head-turner. Sweet, perfumed, vivid and exceptionally beautiful, the 2013 is simply stunning. A wine of exceptional finesse and sensuality, the 2013 hits all the right notes. Today, the 2013 reminds me of the 2008, but with more depth, density and creaminess - especially through the middle - and slightly redder fruit tones. - Antonio Galloni - The 2013 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is a real head-turner. Barolo. Tasted blind. Concentrated mid ruby with orange tinges. A nose that is little leafy/vegetal and not yet open to fruit. Quite austere and closed on the palate with lots of acidity and underlying, firm tannins. Embryonic, elegant and not ready by far. (WS)
