Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Barbaresco Sori Tildin Gaja 2003 presents a deep garnet colour, indicative of its concentrated character. Aromas of dark plum, tobacco and a hint of spice dominate the bouquet, while earthy notes complement the palate, aligning with the robust profile typical of the vintage. Even in the super-hot 2003 vintage, Gaja’s Sori Tildin displays its pedigree, with its dark ruby color, finely nuanced, detailed aromatics and layers of ripe red fruit that gradually reveal themselves as this exquisite wine sits in the glass. Offering extraordinary depth of expression as well length on the palate along with great overall balance, it is another remarkable wine from Angelo Gaja. Deep, bright red-ruby color, very healthy for 2003. Deeply pitched, complex aromas of truffle, underbrush and smoky oak. Ripe, round and highly concentrated; just this side of thick but with surprising freshness and an absence of roasted tones. 17.5 Jancis Robinson

Beautiful blackcurrant fruit on the nose – positively forthright for Nebbiolo. There is a scented, opulent aroma, too, much more expressive than the San Lorenzo. The tannin just about behaves itself, being boisterous but drinkable. The flavours are thoroughly charming with delicious clarity, balance and length. It will certainly keep but is closer to its drinking window than the other Gajas. (RH)

From Turin to Tuscany

The Gaja Winery was founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja and has been owned and operated by five generations of the Gaja family. One of Italy’s most renowned and dynamic wineries, Gaja first established its world-class reputation with the powerful reds it produced in the region of Piemonte in Northwestern Italy.

A key figure was Angelo Gaja, who took over the running of the estate in 1970 and sought to showcase the best that the Nebbiolo grape could produce with stellar Barolo and Barbaresco wines. The estate produces unique white wines too, such as the marvellous single varietal Sauvignon Blanc, Alteni di Brassica.

Gaja is also a leading name in Tuscany, having diversified into the production of Brunello and Super Tuscan wines. The Gaja family have owned the Pieve Santa Restituta estate since 1994 from which they produce two single-vineyard Brunello di Montalcino wines, Rennina and Sugarille. In 1996, Angelo Gaja purchased the Ca’Marcanda estate in Bolgheri.
