An opulent Pinot Noir, described by Mark Aubert as follows, "The 2019 UV-SL Pinot Noir ascends from the glass with a rush of crushed blueberries, summer fig, and garrigue accented by cardamom and pine forest perfume. Flavors focus on black fruits, sappy berries, and an ethereal note of iron-laden soil. The tannins are ripe and refined with the elegance and energy of the vintage on full display at the finish. This is a transcendent Pinot and the harmony of its parts promises a long evolution. Suggested drinking window is 2021 through 2034."

The 2019 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard brings together some of the aromatic breadth of the UV with the textural resonance of the CIX. Rose petal, lavender, spice, menthol, kirsch and dark cherry fruit build in a Pinot that balances density, power and energy. Rich and layered in the glass, with striking inner perfume, the UV-SL is superb. Antonio Galloni1st January 2021

Aubert

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
