Aubert UV-SL Pinot Noir 2013 is a notable expression from the Sonoma Coast, crafted by Aubert Wines, known for their small-batch, meticulously produced wines. This Pinot Noir showcases the distinct characteristics of the region, highlighting red fruit and subtle earthiness. On the palate, it offers a balance of acidity and tannins, indicative of its age. Aubert Wines, founded by Mark Aubert, is recognised for its commitment to low yields and sustainable practices in viticulture, enhancing the wine`s authenticity.

The 2013 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard is the most opulent and extroverted of these Pinots, but it is also the most compelling. Endowed with huge fruit, and an explosive mid-palate, the UV-SL captures the very best of this style of Pinot. Layers of dark, inky fruit built to a crescendo of intensity and juiciness. Hints of lavender, spices and violets wrap around the finish, with plenty of support from beams of underlying tannin. Antonio Galloni1st January 2015

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
