Aubert UV Pinot Noir 2011 is a carefully crafted red wine from the renowned Aubert winery in Sonoma County, California, known for its meticulous vineyard practices. This vintage presents a complex interplay of fruit characteristics alongside subtle earthiness. With a moderate alcohol level and balanced acidity, it reflects the unique terroir of the region. The producer, Mark Aubert, is celebrated for his attention to detail and small-batch techniques, ensuring a consistent expression of Pinot Noir from his estate vineyards.

The 2011 Pinot Noir UV Vineyard has more aromatic lift than most of the other Aubert Pinots. Savory herbs, licorice, mint and new leather all emerge from the glass in this layered, sensual Pinot. The UV is less overtly fruit driven, but seems to place more emphasis on the savory side of Pinot. Polished tannins support a finish laced with tar, smoke, iron, licorice and autumn leaves. Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
