Mark Aubert has swiftly become one of the most talked-about winemakers in California. His superb Chardonnays blend the best of old & new world to dazzling effect.

Mark began his career as assistant winemaker at Peter Michael & moved on to work with two of the most highly respected wineries in Napa - Colgin & Bryant. The wines reflect Mark`s focus on balance & purity & are often compared to the finest bottlings of the Cote de Beaune.
95 Vinous
The 2011 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is laced with hints of dried pear, orange peel, mint, spice, ginger and caramel. The Ritchie appears to be a bit more forward than the other 2011 Chardonnays in this tasting, but has tremendous richness and the viscosity that is such an Aubert signature. Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
