The Aubert Larry Hyde & Sons Chardonnay 2012 is a notable example of California winemaking, crafted from grapes sourced from the esteemed Hyde Vineyard in the Napa Valley. This vintage showcases a balance of richness and acidity, characteristic of the cooler growing conditions at Hyde. Produced by Mark Aubert, who trained at Peter Michael Winery, this wine reflects careful vineyard management and meticulous winemaking practices. Ideal for those interested in the intricacies of Californian Chardonnay.

The 2012 Chardonnay Larry Hyde and Sons is wonderfully textured in the glass. Vivid and layered, the 2012 flows across the palate with hints of Chamomile, lemon curd, mint, wild flowers and a hint of honey. The 2012 was aged in 70% new French oak barrels, all of which it handles with grace. The finish is long and exceptionally polished. Antonio Galloni1st February 2014

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
